I finally ended up creating a new bracer. I’m quite pleased with it, if you can’t tell from the title of this post.
It was kind of odd, since posting about making masks and how I didn’t like making bracers as much any more… I truly enjoyed creating this one. I’ve been thinking about why, and I’m still not entirely sure.
The process didn’t go much more smoothly than it has been.
I had to manually open the holes I punched further because the eyelets wouldn’t go through.
The dye didn’t take evenly and required some manual touch-ups.
The rub ‘n buff got places it wasn’t meant to be and didn’t want to come off…
But tooling it was a joyful process… and it was great to just be so pleased with myself after every step was complete. I know it’s not modest to finish something and tell other people “It’s gorgeous!” but that’s what I ended up doing several times.
Some days, that’s okay.
But remembering to keep yourself in check is another thing of beauty.
