Around the House

Spring time seems to have really sprung and that means yard work has started to eat into my free time. Today a good chunk of the day was spent mowing, raking, and pulling up dandelions.

The tulips are just about done blooming, but the Aquilegias plants are ramping up. Yarrow is starting to get some buds and I expect the chives’ blooms to burst open any day now.

Less wonderful are the green things starting to appear in driveway cracks and trying to grow in the sidewalk.

We don’t believe in using toxic chemicals here, so it’s generally me and the garden gloves. Occasionally we’ll spray things with a vinegar/soap solution if it gets really overrun.

I also did some sewing and almost have a completed bracer and leather mask to show off.

Look forward to those posts sometime soon!
