Grinding Forward

Slowly but surely things continue to fall into place. With the upcoming holiday I have been working for a local floral shop and have not put as much effort into ‘the biz’ as I had last month while unemployed.

I’m also starting to look into part-time employment to bolster my reserves.
I had no idea Etsy would be as involved as it has been, nor getting an online presence take as long.

While some of this is natural and to be expected, it can still seriously be a drain on your self-esteem… to anyone else out there looking at starting or already starting a business!

More than a week to create a logo?
Several hours to make banners?
….did I just crash the website?

I swear, when I was doing this regularly five years ago it didn’t take so long!

Of course, if I were hiring things out it might be different, but I’m not at a stage where the business is making any profit and I’m not looking to borrow investment capital.

It’s just me, with a little help and input from friends and family.

Besides knowing yourself, it’s good to have solid support around you when becoming an entrepreneur. While people who pat you on the back are nice, it’s equally important to have constructive criticism. I’m blessed to have both.
