Hello, October!

Well, September has come and gone and we’re into a new month (and season!) with new possibilities and challenges. My trip and my procedure knocked me out more than I had anticipated- another good lesson for the future. I’m going to attempt to prepare for the next one on Wednesday better… but had another opportunity take preference.

As of Thursday, I should be one of the artists proudly represented at Chema Malu, on Main Street in Anoka. I’m working on a nice collection of wire-wrapped glasses and leather-wrapped hand-bound journals to bring into the shop and that has all of my extra attention currently. That will be my first round of selections, and then onto a grouping of leather key fobs, barrettes, and bookmarks for a couple weeks from now.

Eventually when there is room (perhaps November), they would also like to stock some of my wire necklaces and bracelets. I’m looking forward to adding to their Minnesota-made selections, and seeing how this opportunity plays out.

So far it seems the communication will be very clear and open, and the shop has a bit of an environmentalist bend, which I always appreciate. Much of the “paperwork” is digital and the focus is obviously local-made. The mix of shops in the area is somewhat eclectic, with a mix of antique and Minnesotan things, and seems like a great fit for me.

Also this past week I attended the “Big Red Barn” event and purchased some old glass dramm vials, which should lead to some fun necklaces once I’m focused on 13GEARS again. I might slip a holiday show in on October 22nd, but I’m not 100% on that yet. I’m a little leery now considering how I have/haven’t healed up from last month’s procedure and with Wednesday’s coming up.

I have until next Monday to decide and I suppose you’ll all hear from me then! Anyone have fun goals for October? Let’s talk on Facebook. =)
