May The Day be Grander

…and welcome to May. This year has just been moving at a pace I can’t keep up with and I still haven’t figured out why. This month we will be attending Anime Central and giving a presentation on prop planning and creation.

My first show of the year was to be the first weekend of June, but it has been cancelled. I’m not particularly happy with the Grand Avenue Business Association over their Grand Old Day decision, but hopefully it works out well for them. I know a lot of people enjoy the event and I know that it has become a bit unmanageable the past few years and maybe this will be a positive change for them.

So that means just Mears and Kellogg Craft Brew Overlook to get ready for until later in the season, which I suppose is okay.

This past weekend I spent all day Saturday attending the Saint Paul Art Crawl. Five hours of looking at art is a LOT. Kinda got burned out towards the end, but had a lot of great interactions with other artists over their art, my art, and what it means to be an artist, to make a living as an artist, and about options for displaying at shows.

I wish I could say Sunday then I spent the entire rainy day being inspired and getting things done, but I entertained my house guest and then fell asleep exhausted. I probably walked somewhere around 8 miles on Saturday, so I suppose I can forgive myself.

As the entrepreneur group I joined on Facebook (The Creative Hive) “It’s a fresh, new week! Who and what you are today has nothing to do with your past. The past does not equal the future. You can completely change the outcome of your future today.”

So I’m going to hopefully go do that. See you on Thursday for a light table review!
