Daeron Herds

Once Daeron are adults, they think of joining and forming herds. Herds take many forms, and can be anywhere from 2-20 members!

The most common type of herd is like the Herd of Sunshine. More mares than stallions. However, there may also be the reverse of that- more stallions than mares.

Also, Daeron may just choose one mate, and they have their own herd. Or they may be a mated pair underneath a herd.

~~ I would prefer if there was a "herd page" with a listing of all of the members, but it isn't necessary.

No siblings with siblings, no children with parents. I would prefer no half-siblings as well, but it is their choice on that. Some individual daeross will go beyond parents for relations, but not all, and I do not ever want to see one forcing his/her beliefs on another!

Foaling

Most mares will have a total of 10 foals in a lifetime. They will have even less if one of the births is twins (roll a di, comes up 6 twice- twins!). Sometimes mares will die in birth, but if this happens the foal will live. (I roll a di, if it comes up 1 twice... Oh no!)

Stallions normally father about 15-25 foals before their time comes and they will be retired. Again it is randomly decided (after the 15th foal, I will begin rolling dice to check)

If your mare has a stallion, or is part of a herd, and would like a child, she can apply with all of the others when breedings are available.

If your stallion has a mare, or is part of a herd, and would like to father a foal, he applies the same way as mares do.

Stallions and Mares: You *should* ask your partner's permission before you apply for a breeding. I don't require you to have proof, but that is how it should be done.
